Não foi tão icônico, mas cumpriu seu papel. Ontem à noite (12) foi noite de MTV Video Music Awards, premiação que reúne dezenas de artistas da indústria musical em Nova Yorque. Lil Nas X consagrou-se um dos grandes destaques da noite, apresentando seus dois singles “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” e “Industry Baby”. Ele também levou o prêmio na categoria Vídeo do Ano.

Justin Bieber, Olivia Rodrigo e BTS também foram os grandes premiados da noite. O cantor canadense levou os troféus de “Artista do Ano” e “Melhor Vídeo Pop” para casa. Já a intérprete de “good 4 u” conquistou três prêmios: “Artista Revelação”, “Música do Ano” e “Push Performance”. O grupo sul-coreano venceu nas categorias de “Melhor K-pop” e “Grupo do Ano”.

Billie Eilish, Madonna e Avril Lavigne também deram as caras na premiação. O Foo Fighters foi homenageado na categoria Global Icon, celebrando os 26 anos de trajetória. Eles subiram ao palco para apresentar seus hits “Learn To Fly”, “Shame Shame” e “Everlong”. E teve também uma pequena homenagem a Charlie Watts, baterista dos Rolling Stones falecido no dia 24 de agosto. A banda escreveu “CHARLIE RIP” na bateria de Taylor Hawkins.
